Some of the information from the comic books in on the pages:
Timeline of events (rebooted franchise)
Please do not add video game information to movie pages unless it's in the form of trivia.
This especially applies to vehicle pages that recently have been edited to include video game vehicles in them. Video game vehicle information does not belong on the movie vehicle pages! Please create a separate video game vehicle list where all the information about those cars can be kept.
The same thing applies to other pages where people are mixing and sometimes even deleting (!!) movie information to replace it with barely any information from the video game counterparts. Keep those things separate please or include the video game information as trivia on the movie pages. I do not want to ban any more users who want to contribute information but insist on merging or replacing movie information with video game stuff.
Thanks.
Originally conceived as a sequel to Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome with Mel Gibson playing the role of 'old Max', the script had undergone changes due to long production process and cast changes so the movie should now be considered a reboot.
Given that the whole movie was written as a sequel to Beyond Thunderdome there are still many direct leftovers from its original form, things such as Max's jacket complete with accurate damage from previous movies. Another remnant is the date on Max's back tattoo. It states it's been 33 years since the apocalypse i.e. the events of Mad Max. Hardy's Max already is in his mid 30's so he'd have to be an infant 33 years before, when events of Mad Max took place. Max was in his early 20's in Mad Max, add 33 years to that and you'd have the 'old Max' that was supposed to be in Fury Road.
It's days after the apocalypse. 32 years.
For some odd reason they stopped counting months and years, same way of counting time is in the Mad Max comic books.
On a side note, 32 years after the apocalypse would line up with Mel Gibson's age if he played Max (Max would be in his 50's).
Try a harpoon gun instead.
Generally speaking, Mad Max vehicles do not have traditional guns mounted on them because it goes against the theme of recycling and scaresness of resources (hence - dart guns, crossbows and harpoons mainly. The exception being Fury Road with Bullet Town supplying ammo and explosives). This is something that a lot of Mad Max people get wrong - for some reason they think installing a gatling gun on the hood of a car makes it post-apocalyptic. Nothing could be further from the truth when it comes to making a true Mad Max inspired vehicle.
But if you really want a machinegun mounted on your model I suggest the M2 Browning with a side ammunition can because it's been seen (not used) on 2 vehicles in Fury Road (Elvis and Buick). I'm sure you can easily find a 1:24 scale model of it in some kit.
IMO Job Type category is absolutely reduntant.
While there are some characters that perform the same duties across the franchise (i.e. mechanics), they do not need to be lumped together into a category like this. Each character has a specified job in their description. Moreover - creating more subcategories for 'jobs' such as 'breeders' only creates more subcategories than the characters that perform it - it adds up to the mess in categories. Also, job categories are already specified in different ways, such as "War Boys" as their own group and need not have additional 'job type' category.
On a side note - a lot of character pages have a lot of reduntant categories that need to be removed. Things like "Deceased characters" "Characters killed by Max" "Characters" "Mad Max Characters" all in one page.
I agree.
Individual pages already belonging to subcategories do not need additional macro category listed in them, since the subcategory already belongs to the macro category.
In most cases this means removing macro categories such as "Category: Mad Max: Fury Road" from pages with subcategories. There are, however pages that I'd like to have an additional category such as Vehicles, Characters, Locations. It helps with listing all the items in one place.
