New Analytics Dashboard
Hello! I was passing by to share some news regarding a new feature available for wikis, the Analytics Dashboard for administrators. It allows them to have a look at some interesting data about the wiki (views per country, most searched terms, desktop versus mobiles…)
In this blog post you can read about the announcement, and there is also a help page that should help answer some questions. I know there are no active administrators around here, but if in future an administrator comes back or someone receives the role, this message might be useful.
Feel free to ask questions if you have any!
Conan O'Brien Comic Con Fury Road Tribute
When Conan goes to Comic Con, he doesn't mess around! Well... okay, he's pretty much doing nothing but messing around here, but when you get a chance to borrow the Doof Wagon, by God you do it!

Two of my favourite things, Mad Max and Midnight Oil combine in this homage montage.
Mad Max: Beyond the Men's Rights Activists
Note: This blog contains MM1, MM2, MM:BT spoilers. Reader discretion advised.
Amongst the rave critic reviews for George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road, a bizarre and agitated whinging can distantly be heard.
Certain Men's Rights Activists like Aaron Clarey from website Return of the Kings have wriggled out of the undergrowth of "this wasted land", and are waving virtual placards in a rebellious boycott against Fury Road. Why? Because it's apparently "feminist propaganda". *Cough*
Let's hear them out. In what way do they insist it's "feminist propaganda"? Well, not only does Fury Road feature more screen-time and dialogue for the female lead, Imperator Furiosa (played by Charlize Theron), than the male lead, Max (Tom Hardy), but it also shows an …
I just went to an early screening of Fury Road
SPOILER WARNING: BASIC DESCRIPTION OF THE PREMISE OF THE MOVIE.
I just got out of the theater after seeing an early screening of Mad Max: Fury Road. I was very lucky to have this opportunity at Wizard World in Philadelphia. I've been pumped about this movie for a long time. Mad Max is just one of those perfect action movie franchises that sticks in your craw. I don't mean "perfect" like the movies are all perfect. Road Warrior is a classic. Thunderdome is fun and one of my favorite movies to quote, but it is definitely dumb. I mean that Mad Max has a perfect premise and setting. There are many movies that try to do the post-apocalyptic wasteland as well as Mad Max. You can see its influence everywhere from the Fallout games to music videos …
INTRODUCING: The Vehicles of Fury Road
Take a look at these amazing wasteland beasts! If you had to choose one as your best chance at survival, which of these would be your favorite pick?
New Fury Road Posters!
Check out these new posters for Mad Max: Fury Road! Super excited for this film, from what I've seen so far it's got everything an old-school Mad Max geek like me could ever want in a sequel. At this point in her career, I'm convinced that Charlize Theron could mold herself into any role, but I have to admit that at first, I was a little worried about Tom Hardy stepping in to take over the Mad Max mantle. Now that I've seen the trailers though, the choice has really grown on me. What do you think? Is Hardy a good fit? Comment below, I'd love to hear your take!
I'll definitely be among the first to take this one in on opening night (or the night before, if there is a 'midnight showing' - which there probably will be), but what about you? Ar…
Plz read: Vehicle Naming System
Dear editors.
If you wish to edit and/or add a new vehicle page, please follow this naming system:
Make | Model | Series + (Optional) additional info | Year | "Nickname" (Optional)
e.g.
Ford | Falcon | XB GT Coupe | 1974 | "V8 Interceptor"
Custom vehicles with unidentifiable make and/or model should be referred to as their unofficial name i.e. 'nickname'. For example:
The Lone Wolf , Andamooka Buggy, The Camel Wagon etc.
Please keep in mind that custom vehicle pages might be subject to change once make and model are found.
Fury Road trailer: notes & speculation
It's sure been a long time coming, but finally the Mad Max: Fury Road trailer has surfaced at this year's comic-con, and it's an impressive amalgamation of madness! I'll let the trailer do most of the talking, but here's a small deconstruction of the footage we saw.
1) 0:12 Mutated two-headed lizard, an example of the small use of the CGI that George Miller admitted to using in his film. Well used if you ask me. We can hear voices over the radio from a number of English speaking countries, such as the United States and the United Kingdom. The word "water-wars" is used.
2) 0:32 "My name is Max, my world is fire and blood." What an opening speech! Giving me some serious goose bumps. Ahem, pardon the pun. Hard to tell whether Tom Hardy used an A…
Hardy & Theron MAD MAX Ent.Weekly Cover
Thirty years after the last film, the Mad Max franchise is set to be reborn by none other than its creator, the legendary George Miller. This week's issue of Entertainment Weekly features an exclusive look at the upcoming film, and as a bonus, our first real look at Charlize Theron's character: Imperator Furiosa!
Fury Road: sequel, reboot or something else?
. Regardless, whether Mel is the drifter or not, or whether the drifter tells the tale or doesn't, it doesn't render the Mad Max Mythos argument void in any way.
Ultimately, Max's appearance being different and the tale's continuity varying? All that doesn't matter; as wastelanders have come together to barter and trade, many bring with them similar tales of a heroic road-warrior: some tales note a leather jacket, some do not; some tales claim he was old, some that he was younger. The exact details are lost, but the events still happened, some small grain of truth exists somewhere, and I believe that is what we are dealing with with this new movie. We will be witnessing the re-envisioning of Max's character (reboot), sometime after Beyond T…

Home page changes (05/10/2013)
The main page is continuously changing, albeit somewhat slowly (much like the rest of the Wiki at the moment). Every few months we're given some scrap of news regarding George Miller's Fury Road, or Avalanche Studios' Mad Max game - and we upload it to The Tell. Recently, we've added a column on the page for some Mad Max media, including both the Mad Max soundtracks and video games; but there'd been some things about the home page that were personally bugging me for a while. So I spent some time altering a few things, and would like to hear back what other editors think.
So, what got changed on the 5th October? Primarily, the thing that had been an eyesore for myself on the main page was the information under the contents and news headers. …
Mad Max E3 Impressions
Remember Mad Max? I do, and it's fifteen years older than I am. Today, I checked out the Mad Max booth at E3, and I wanted to share some of my thoughts on it. We were treated to roughly 20-30 minutes of gameplay footage, showcasing the various elements of the upcoming and long-overdue Mad Max video game.
For those of you who don't know (and shame on you if you if you don't), the Mad Max series of films stars Max Rockatanksy, a psuedo police officer fighting for peace in the post-apocalyptic dystopian outback, who turns into the ultimate antihero, searching for both his humanity and a place to call home. We were told that this will be a standalone experience, despite the upcoming fourth film. According to the developer, they have "updated" the Mad M…
