– Furiosa (Ordering him to activate the Bommy Knocker) |
The Bommy Knocker War Pup was a special War Pup who was stationed in the control pod above the so-called "bommy knocker" for the Prototype War Rig, The War Rig -- as well as its medieval-looking death device -- first appeared in 2024's Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and its associated War Pup was played by Quaden Bayles.
Description[]
The Tatra T815 War Rig seen in Mad Max: Fury Road was NOT the first War Rig produced at The Citadel's "House of Holy Motors." A prototype, the Kenworth W900, was first constructed out of nearly three thousand different scavenged parts. The Kenworth War Rig featured 615 horsepower and 2050 lb-ft of torque. It also came with a contingent of various weapons, a pair of claws, and special platforms for the War Boys to operate from. It was all finished in a shiny brushed aluminum that displayed iconography of Immortan Joe in stunning bas-relief. However, all of that paled in comparison to its most awesome and awe-inspiring feature which was dubbed the "bommy knocker."
The Bommy Knocker[]
The best description of the device is as a whirling drill with four, spiked maces attached. Its an industrial-sized deathtrap. When sprung at the precise moment can act as a surprise attack which can wreak havoc and destruction to anything -- and anyone -- that dares get too close.
The bommy knocker is big and brutal and bombastic. Perhaps, that is where it derives its name -- four, bomb-like knockers.
The War Pup[]
This special device had its own War Pup who was responsible for activating the device at the precise moment. The War Pup had a special hatch that he could hide in. However, he had to come out of the hatch in order to see what was going on as well as receive his orders.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga[]
On its first run after completion the rig is attacked by the Octoboss and his crew of "Mortiflyers" as Praetorian Jack refers to them. He explains that they've "gone rogue" from Dementus.
An epic road war ensues, during which nearly all of the War Boys are wiped-out. The Bommy Knocker War Pup remains alive and Furiosa orders him to activate the bommy knocker, but the War Pup is shot and killed before he can do so, forcing Furiosa to fire-it-up and take out the Octoboss in the process.
