A round wound cut deep into the dirt, its miners harvested saltpeter, like an army of black ants with black lung, they slaved to help make the black powder.

The Bullet Farm is a location near The Citadel. It features in Mad Max: Fury Road, although unseen, and makes its first film appearance in 2024's prequel Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

Description[]

Originally an abandoned lead mine to the west of The Citadel, the Bullet Farm was refurbished into an arms factory and used to manufacture small arms, gunpowder, and ammunition to fuel The Citadel's war effort against other gangs that roam the Wasteland.

The Bullet Farm can most accurately be described as a quarry sunk into a large crater in the Earth which has a dirt road that circles the walls down into the central basin proper.

As of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the Bullet Farm is entitled as "The Third Fortress of the Wasteland," part of a triumvirate of fortresses along with The Citadel and Gastown and is led by the Bullet Farmer.

History[]

Mad Max: Fury Road (Comic Series)[]

Bullet Farm

The abandoned lead mine was discovered by Colonel Joe Moore around the same time that the Citadel was found. Moore's men, while scouting for other sources of water, also found the derelict oil refinery.

After Moore and several of his men successfully seized the Citadel, the lead mine was given to Major Kalishnikov as a reward for his help in eliminating the Citadel's original occupants. Kalishnikov thereafter became more commonly known as the Bullet Farmer and he served as its "guardian, judge and executioner" until the events of Fury Road.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga[]

Battle at the Bullet Farm.

The Bullet Farm was briefly seized by Dementus and his forces. This act, along with Dementus' attempt to, once again, take the Citadel sparked the "Forty-Day Wasteland War," during which the Biker Horde was largely wiped-out and Dementus, himself, was hunted down and defeated by Furiosa.

Behind the Scenes[]

Concept art for the Bullet Farm was created for Mad Max: Fury Road although the location was never seen in the film or the 2015 video game. The artwork can be found in the Mad Max: Fury Road art book.[2]

Trivia[]

  • Due to the nature of the settlement, its inhabitants are armed with many exotic firearms.
