The Great Northern Tribe is a society that originated from the small oil refinery showcased in Mad Max: The Road Warrior. After the escape plan in Road Warrior succeeded, members of the refinery trekked to the coast where they selected the Gyro Captain as their chief. Years later, the Feral Kid, who became the new leader of the Northern Tribe in time, reminisced about the legend of the "Road Warrior."
