iOTA (born Sean Hape, May 7, 1968 ) is an Australian singer, songwriter, and actor who portrayed The Doof Warrior in Mad Max: Fury Road.
Biography[]
Sean Hape is a musician, artist, and writer who broke into acting in 2005 as Hedwig in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" for which he won an award.[1]
In an interview he gave to Vice in 2015, Hape recalls the brief for the character that he eventually became (the Doof Warrior) "was somewhere between Keith Richards and a scarecrow."[2] He also claimed that the guitar he used for filming weighed 132 pounds and shot actual flames.
