Jedediah was a marauding pilot in the Outback who traded stolen goods at Bartertown. He flew The Flying Jalopy and had a son, Jedediah Jr.. He was portrayed by Bruce Spence in Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.
Biography[]
While crisscrossing the desert in his cart pulled by camels, Max is attacked by Jedediah who circulates aboard a mini-plane (model Transavia PL-12 Airtruk) with the complicity of his son who takes the handle of plane while Jedediah jumps from the plane onto the cart and grabs it. While pursuing his thieves, Max arrives in a town, Bartertown, which is literally "the town of barter", dedicated to commerce, which is governed by Entity. Jedediah later witnesses Max's fight with Blaster.
Later Max and the Lost Tribe later stumble upon Jedediah again as his son tries to flee them and the armed Bartertown convoy in pursuit of them and takes refuge in Jedediah's Safehouse. Jedediah then had no choice but to help them, in spite of himself, by piloting his mini-plane in order to help the children to escape, while Max nearly sacrifices himself by running head on into the pursuers, clearing the passage in the process so that the plane can take off.
